In ICT for the first half of the semester we have been covering mainly two adobe programs these programs are Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Flash. Adobe Photoshop is a picture editing software which allows you to do many things if you want to know more I have posted a previous topic called adobe programs. Adobe Flash is a program that lets you draw, create and design your own animations. Also I have posted more info in adobe programs.

For the second half of the semester we have been using Microsoft Outlook and Looking at Social Media, Microsoft Outlook is a product that is primarily used for receiving and sending electronic messages (e-mails) for more info I have made a post about it. Social media is any kind of social activity that you do over the internet. We have been learning about this in ICT because it i becoming an increasingly important part of living in society.

The skills and knowledge is comprehensive comparing from when I started using the programs. I now feel that I am confident about using these programs and have proven useful.

The Yr 9 ICT class has taught how to use lots of valuable programs and it has impacted my learning vastly, it hasn't only impacted my learning in just the ICT class but in a variety of other classes that I also have.

Trolls

What is a Troll

On the Internet, a troll is someone who posts off-topic, annoying or stupid messages online, with the intent of making readers annoyed or another negative emotion, they may also be just trying to go off topic from the usual discussion.

Do Trolls Have a Negative or Positive Effect on Technology?

Trolls have a huge negative effect on how we could be using the internet, for example trolls spam sites that would usually be considered valid or resourceful such as Wikipedia. Without trolls the internet would be a nicer place.

What are the Aim of Trolls?

The main aim for trolls is to try and annoy the reader and make them react in a negatively emotional way.

Adobe Programs

Adobe is a well known software company making many programs ranging from picture editing to animation, in this post I will tell you about two of the many Adobe programs.

The first Program that I will talk about is Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop is a picture editing software which allows you to do many things such as: morph different pictures together, burn the pictures to make them look old, bend them out of shape and add different textures to them, plus loads more. The next program is Adobe Flash, Flash is a program that lets you draw, create and design your own animations. These animations can become very complex and once they are complete it looks very good.

These programs are both great, but as with most programs they also have their bad parts. Flash and Photoshop are very hard programs to master, I have been using them for 4 months and and I am just starting to scratch the surface of these programs.

Microsoft Outlook

What is Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is a product developed my Microsoft Inc, it is primarily used for receiving and sending electronic messages (e-mails). Microsoft Outlook also includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taking, a journal and web browsing. The three main uses for Outlook are Calender, Emails and Contact manager.

What are some of the functions?

One of the functions is the e-mail function, this is used to send electronic message, files and other goodies to people. This is really convenient because it is easy to use and navigate. Another function is the calender functions this is used to set important date and event onto an electronic calendar, this makes things easy to keep track of if you frequently use the program. It is also easy to navigate and use. The contact manager function is a great function as it lets you create, edit and save personal information so that you have it stored for a certain time when you need it, as like the rest it is also easy to use.

How calender can be used to enhance an individual's experience

The calendar function can be used to enhance an individual's experience by setting events and social meetings so that they will never miss them, this really helps and has helped me on occasion especially reminding me about international nut day :).
